Mr. Potato Head Time: Fluidity
Fluidity- the physical property of a substance that enables it to flow.
Skill- Transitional movements to perform snatches.
Specially we're talking about Hang Power snatches.
What is a Snatch? Moving an object from the ground to overhead in one motion.
Demo of multiple reps of the movement. Click here.

Demo and explanation from Mark Rippetoe for the Hang Power Snatch. Long watch but worth it. Click here.
What is the difference? Power Snatch starts from the ground. Hang Power Snatch starts after the athlete stands up with the weight and then performs the snatch. There are a number of reasons why we teach power snatches first but it will be discussed later. Simply put- Beginners can first just concentrate on getting used to the ending of the lift and then we work backwards. Similar to how you learn a language with the Pimsleur method.
As an athlete why do you think fluidity important in weightlifting?
