Without trying to sound like a cliche, when you have strength you can accomplish a great many things. With Strength and endurance you to perform anything. And that comes with time and practice. Becoming strong takes a lot of effort and determination and we at CrossFit Hagerstown are determined to make it a focus at our facility. This is the jumping off point, folks. From this point on we are programming to build strength with all our WODs. We will have 3 main components that you will see in our programming. Active Warm-Up First we'll start out with with a active warm-up followed by stretching. This may include rowing, jump roping or other activities, but with a focus of total body. Stretching will follow to address lack of range of motion (ROM) and emulate the day's strength component and work out of the day (WOD). Strength Programming This is where we are going to work on Olympic Lifts ranging from Deadlift to Clean and Jerk. We are going to vary the position and weight to improve our strength. With more strength we will be able to lift heavy things easier which will allow us to perform more strenuous tasks. WOD Work out of the day that will address the cardiovascular system that will allow us to move heavy objects for a greater time. This will include box jumps, wall balls, sledge hammer strikes, burpees, burpee box jumps, double unders, gymnastics and plyometrics, etc etc. Basically we'll be throwing in a lot of tasks, so just take a deep breath and have fun with it! Active Cool Down Instead of an abrupt stop from CrossFit, we try to acclimate the body back into the world be performing movements at a lower intensity, but at the same time moving the lactic acid build up from the muscles.
